Greenbridge develops and supports international partnerships, educator exchanges, and grant-funded initiatives that expand access to global learning for Vermont students and educators.

Vermont–Québec Connections

Greenbridge is building sustained cross-border relationships that bring Vermont and Québec educators, schools, and students together through shared learning, professional collaboration, and international exchange.

The initiative is designed around reciprocal, sustained relationships rather than one-time experiences, creating opportunities for educators and students on both sides of the border to exchange ideas, learn across cultures, and develop collaborations that can grow over time.

Vermont–Finland Connections

Greenbridge builds on a multi-year Vermont–Finland collaboration connecting secondary students and educators through school partnerships, virtual exchange, professional learning, and face-to-face international experiences. The work promotes cross-cultural competency, equitable access to global learning, and the exchange of educational ideas and practices between Vermont and Finland.

The collaboration grew from relationships established through the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program and has included partnerships with Finnish schools, educator collaboration, school visits, virtual exchange, and international professional learning.

The Vermont–Finland collaboration has received support from Fulbright and the U.S. Department of State, the Fulbright Finland Foundation, and the Finnish National Agency for Education.

International professional learning has also been part of the collaboration. Greenbridge Executive Director Jill Prado presented on developing students’ cross-cultural competency and global citizenship at Finland’s XVII General Education and Early Childhood Education Internationalisation Days, whose theme was “Growing Internationalisation – A Changing World Through the Eyes of Children and Youth.”

Vermont Humanities Grant

Greenbridge received a Vermont Humanities grant to support cross-border humanities learning and educator collaboration.

In spring 2026, Greenbridge convened a bilingual Vermont–Québec colloquium for secondary educators in Burlington, bringing educators together to observe, collaborate, and reflect on the role of the humanities in secondary education, including social sciences, literature, and languages.
